Why Am I following these people / organizations on Twitter

Most Relevant organizations that I follow

  • The AFM Marketing ( The French Marketing Association ) https://twitter.com/afm_marketing . As a future marketer, it is actually a must to follow this organization, for me, it's helping me to be up to date on all the new marketing trends and regulations in France.
  • Get Reached https://twitter.com/get_reach . This organization shares the best to get reached on social media, it helps me as an SMM student.
  • La French Tech https://twitter.com/LaFrenchTechEN and some of its local account like La French Tech L.A https://twitter.com/FrenchTechLA and La French Tech San Francisco https://twitter.com/FrenchTechSF. These accounts this organization promotes and helps French startups around the world. The Abroad subsidiaries are run by the French consulates. They hold monthly meetings that are great to network.
  • Donut Marketing https://twitter.com/MarketingDonut This UK account provides useful tools and updates for the marketers.
  • MarketingWeek is a very interesting online marketing magazine.

What are the pros and cons of using Twitter as an SMM tool?

Pros :

  • A versatile tool. Twitter users are both professionals; that use Twitter to network and find a job and improve there skills and individuals. Twitter can be easily used to do BtoB and BtoC SMM.
  • Presence of influential people that can help you build your brand.
  • Good social network to "build your brand awarness" and "build your brand preference"

Cons :

  • Not a mainstream audience. Twitter using is less spread out than other social networks. Twitter users are more professional, or individual with a strong passion or commitment for something. They are also younger.
  • It's hard to advertise on Twitter. Twitter users expect more pieces of information and shares than the other SN.
