Case Study Review

In this article, I will highlight the three most important lesson I learned by studying this week's case study.

There are 3 different ways to advertise on Facebook.

You can use pages, ads or groups to advertise on Facebook. I don't think there is a better way than other. It depends on what you want to do.
  • If your brand is already well known by your target audience, then launch a page, this will help to keep your customers up to date, and to post information about our brand, the page are more on the PR side of SMM.
  • Use ads, if know your marketing persona very well, and you know when he or she is likely to buy your product. Set your ad automation at the right time.
  • If your objective is to federate, retain and help your customers, groups are more effective.

There is a specific timing to post if you want to raise the engagement from your followers.

80% of the U.S population is concentrated on the eastern and the central time zones. If you run a nationwide company SMM, your default time zone should be the eastern time.

But remember, your targets/customers are very likely to not be geographically spread like the average U.S population. You should study them and post according to their time zone. In other words, if you are In N out burger, please don't post using the east coast time. #westcoast

The timing and the number of posts changes according to the social network.

Twittos scroll and retweet around 5.pm while they are commuting. Facebookers really like to share on Saturdays at noon and blog readers, read on Mondays mornings when they are taking there coffee, but surprisingly they feel the need to comment and give their opinion (even though we did not ask for it) on Saturdays.

But you have to remember that these figures are average, and do not necessarily works for your specific audience, you have to study them and test out new things using analytics.

For instance, if your marketing persona is Donald Trump (why not?), it's better to post on early mornings when he's watching FOX News and tweet about what he sees than at 5pm (he's probably taking a nap at this time).

I think that to optimize a maximum its communication it is necessary to use Facebook.
As a student, I think that it is the first social network in terms of image and attendance that can generate a maximum of success for a company.

Why is it important to market yourself ?

Q1: Discuss why it is important to market yourself? Job hunting is filling your future employer needs. Looking for a job is basically selling yourself to your potential employers. Like any customers your future employer has needs. It needs for hard skills (technical skills), soft skills (ability to present something, to lead a team...). But you also need to fit with the culture of the company.
